Did you know? Toa Payoh literally means “Big Swamp” in Hokkien. “Toa” means big, and “Payoh” means swamp. True to its name, the town used to be mainly forests and swamps, until it was developed.

Just noticed Toa Payoh Central also got that Hawker Chan soya sauce chicken eatery that was awarded the One Michelin Star @ Hersing Centre #01-10 (same building as the Tim Ho Wan dim sum eatery).

The queue for bus no.238 is often very long. Do seek alternate service routes if you can.

If you're going to Dhoby Ghaut station, take Coach 8. You'll alight exactly at the escalator going up the exit.

Avoid taking the train from 6-6.30. You might get squashed by groups of smelly students and nonchalant office ladies
